The Beginning of a New Era.

And they called it, "Plato's Atlantis".
-- apocalyptic/oceanic/frightening cold-bloods/amphibians/futuristic/aliens/fins/creatures under the sea/a mermaid's true form/handmaidens of the Ice Queen -- that is what swirls in my mind as I'm watching this amazing runway show.

And I know I did say that Chanel was my no.1 but well.... this: how exactly can you forget this? I can't stop fawning and agonizing over it. Luckily, I found amazing runway photos from Alexander McQueen's 2010 Spring line.

Why we can't forget this: Creation. Renewal. Perfected Art.

Noticed that the trends set for next year take us back in time. Dior's homage to Old Hollywood, Chanel's homage to...well, Chanel, lol. Isaac Mizrahi's homage to the 50s and so on. And while that's all great and good, here is one collection that would forever be remembered because he decided to create something... spectacular.

This is the dawn of the new era. McQueen claims so himself: "This is the birth of a new dawn. There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you’ve never dreamed were possible."

Btw, these show pieces were only for his retail collection - he will be interpreting his ideas for more wearable clothes. I am excited to see the actual RTW for this ethereal concept.
